Fang Ma obtained an M.Sc. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering  from Xi'an Jiaotong University (China). Her master thesis was in the area of surface plasmons and nanofabrication. Fang was awarded a research scholarship at NUS and numerous honors at Xi'an Jiaotong University.
